while Mum and Doug were here i went out to Dundee with them for 3 days. it was so good to be there again. the weather is perfect at this time of year. only a couple of hours out of Darwin.
this is the shed/ house
the beach…
the beast. i LOVE this car.
the kitchen
bush girl. Dundee is a really good place to do absolutely nothing. i had to sort all my crap out, but the rest of the time was spent as below.
the bruise on my leg is a moshing injury from going to see Test Theory, Kalinda’s brothers band.
funniest moment of the night: a boy bouncing up to me asking earnestly which highschool i went too. great for the ego that was!!
magnetic termite mounds 5 mins from the block. very beautiful.
clever little things the termites are. they build these so they have the most amount of exposure to the sun.

Dad & Louise’s pool is such a haven.
Little Matilda, Kalinda, James, Alex & Angus after a manic session in the pool
Angus informed me last week that if i was a boy he’d call me a ‘brother from another mother’ and then roared with laughter. we eventually decided that i could keep my gender the same and be referred to as a ‘sister from the same mister’.
Cousin Chrissy lookin flash in her office.
Cousin Rose, Kalinda, and Matilda being super shy.
my very wonderful girls one of whom is a little sleepy…
I found some of David’s graff whilst wandering around Darwin with Kalinda. He is very clever.
He and Ally are coming up at the end of the month. WOO HOO.
a lot can change in 3 years…. Aaron used to be Kalinda’s sweet little bro but has morphed into a rock star in my absence. Mim on the right is a star. Nice to see her again. Some things in Darwin don’t change.
too cheeky for words and exceptionally fun to hand out with
Aunty Kate in charge of painting…..
CUUUUUUUUUUTE little miss that she is.
my first Darwin sunset in a long time did not disappoint.
went to the Deckchair last night with Klick and Tilda to watch the Golden Compass. any cinema with stars above you, the beach to your side, and a bar at the back is ok with me.
and there goes my partners in crime… lucky i have a few reserves.
generally life is good. am working more – just about doubled my hours working for the festival which is fantastic. it means that catching up with people has taken on a more leisurely pace but its all working out fine.
xx

It was an excellent night and they raised about $40k USD for corrective facial surgery for children with harelips. There was yummy bbq, good music and lots of dancing.

was a bit hungover the next day, but went for the Harley pub crawl anyway. we had police escorts to make sure that there was no trouble along the way. who would’ve thought eh…
the pubs were really nice actually. lots of cool restaurants and pubs in Jakarta. didn’t get to the clubs, but they looked pretty interesting also.
getting around Jakarta is crazy, the amount of things people can fit on the back of a bike or scooter is quite impressive. i felt out of place riding 2 people to a bike, instead of piling up a family of 4. i saw quite a few people having a nap on the back of a bike too. they’re pretty casual about it and Jakarta traffic never builds up enough pace for there to be much danger of crashes.
